Nearthlab’s AIDrone Takes Center Stage at CES 2024
Jan. 9, 2024 — Nearthlab,
a leading provider of autonomous drone solutions, unveiled its latest
innovation, AIDrone, marking the company's inaugural venture into the hardware
sector. The launch took place at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
AIDrone, a
portmanteau of artificial intelligence and drone, embodies its mission to aid a
diverse spectrum of tasks across various industries, from infrastructure
inspections and renewables to defense and public safety.
Key features of AIDrone include:
- High-Performance Payload. Fitted with a 64MP EO/IR camera
mounted on a dual-axis gimbal supporting vertical rotation of up to 200
degrees, AIDrone can spot millimeter-sized cracks and detect subtle
temperature changes in challenging environments.
- Robust and Adaptable Airframe. Currently undergoing rigorous
MIL-STD-81H testing, AIDrone boasts a durable frame, ensuring resilience
and adaptability against diverse environmental conditions.
- Next-Level Autonomy. Rooted in Nearthlab's cutting-edge
vision-based autonomous flight technology, as validated by the success of
NearthWIND Pro and Mobile, the latter of which earned the prestigious 2022
CES Innovation Awards,
- AIDrone executes tasks autonomously even in zero-light and GPS-denied environments, both indoors and outdoors.
Tipping the scales
at just about 4 lbs all the while featuring a foldable structure, AIDrone makes
up for an ultra-adaptable drone solution tailored for intelligence,
surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), as well as crisis management,
encompassing wildfire response and law enforcement.
"AIDrone is
the culmination of our extensive experience collaborating with leading
equipment manufacturers and clients in leveraging drones for asset inspections,”
said Jay Choi, co-founder and CEO.
“We’re confident
that AIDrone will usher in new possibilities, propelling the drone industry
forward by addressing the longstanding need for high-quality hardware that can
keep pace with the rapid advancements in software."
