Nearthlab Receives MOTIR Commendation for Advancing Korea’s Robotics Industry Through Autonomous Flight Technology

— Recognized for strengthening national self-reliance and innovation in robotics with AI-powered drone systems —

Seoul, November 6, 2025Nearthlab, a leading autonomous drone and AI technology company, announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Youngsuk Chung, has been awarded the Minister of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR) Commendation. The commendation recognizes Nearthlab’s contribution to advancing Korea’s robotics sector through its proprietary autonomous flight and AI integration technologies. These innovations have played a key role in enhancing the nation’s technological independence and competitiveness in robotics and unmanned systems.

Chung led the research and commercialization of KAiDEN, Nearthlab’s high-speed, hard-kill interceptor drone. Designed to physically neutralize hostile drones through direct collision, KAiDEN employs advanced AI algorithms to rapidly detect, track, and intercept targets with precision.

His leadership in integrating complex hardware and software systems has been instrumental in advancing Korea’s defense robotics capabilities.

“It’s deeply meaningful to see Korean-built autonomous flight technology recognized at a national level,” said Chung. “We’ll keep driving the convergence of AI and robotics to deliver technologies that make industries more resilient.”

This award underscores Nearthlab’s mission to push the boundaries of autonomy, transforming drones from tools of observation into intelligent systems that shape the future of robotics.
